Frequently Asked Questions about The Swimwear Industry Official Model Search:

What if there’s not a location nearby producing the Swimwear Industry Model Search?
You can travel to any model search, whether it is in your area or not and you can compete as many times as necessary until you win a local event. Please review the “Rules & Regulations” for specific guidelines for competing at multiple locations. If there are no locations near your area please register on-line. In order to participate in the on-line National Swimwear Industry Model Search there is a one time processing fee of $25.00 to be submitted when you register. Once you have registered you need to e-mail us three photos and all other requirements to Modelsearch@swimweargirls.com. Please see Online Swimwear Industry Model Search Information.

2. What do you look for in your models?
A great personality, dependability, motivation, dedication and timeliness. A firm body tone, medium skin coloring, poise, and a great smile. Natural, simply beautiful make-up and healthy, trimmed hair. No tan lines, if possible.

What do I need to bring to the location to compete?
You will be modeling swimwear of any type. You will need to bring any other accessories, hair and make-up supplies necessary to assist you in looking your best. We would also suggest that you get at least a 3” heel to model your swimwear. Please keep the suit upscale. It’s also a good idea to bring a couple of headshots and bodyshots of yourself to show how you look when you’re photographed.

How can I find out where the model search locations are?
You can look on the website at “Local Venues” for the location, contact person, dates, and phone numbers. Call them for information regarding the time and who to meet at their location.

Who pays for my outfits for the local Model Search event and National Competition?
You are responsible for providing your own outfits.

What will I do at the local model search during competition?
You will model swimwear. Judges at that location will select semi-finalists to qualify for the local event finals. At all local event finals, you will model swimwear once again. During the local finals the judges will select one overall winner and two runner-ups. The Local Venue Host will provide winners’ travel, hotel, and some meal expenses to the National Competition.

What categories will be judged in the National Competition?
Swimsuit. You will be asked to bring some photos of you that show your versatility and photogenic appeal to get a chance at receiving modeling contracts from top Swimwear Companies and National Swimwear Industry Model Search Sponsors.

Where and when is the Swimweargirls.com National Competition and how many other contestants will be there?
The Swimweargirls.com National Competition will be held in the Bahamas in mid-September for 3 days, and 2 nights. If you are selected as a local venue winner, you will receive an informational packet regarding National Competition details. There is a one-time $25.00 processing fee to attend the National Competition. The National Competition contestant number will be based on the number of venues that hold competitions. The National on-line contestant winner is not required to pay the $25.00 processing fee associated with the National Competition because you paid it when you entered on-line. 9. What events are held at the National Competition?
The National Competition is a 3-day event, where each day is filled with swimwear photo shoots, model seminars that help you network into the swimwear industry, a chance to meet with many Swimwear company representatives and National Sponsors.

What do I have the opportunity to win at the National Competition?
All National contestants have the opportunity to win cash, prizes, and modeling contracts. This is your opportunity to be featured in swimwear advertisements, catalogs, calendars, posters, billboards, trade shows, promotional events and well-known national magazines, like For Him Magazine (FHM). Winners also will have the opportunity to be featured on the Swimweargirls.com website which is a portal for swimwear companies to find some of the best models in the business.
